Police Reports: Man Accused of Punching Cab Driver

Police are investigating an apparent robbery that left a cab driver injured and without cab fare July 7. According to police, three men and two women took a cab from downtown St. Louis to an apartment complex at Katy Trail Ln. on July 7.

After they arrived, there was an argument over cab fare, which was more than $200, and one male punched the 43-year-old cab driver twice in the back of the head. All of the suspects ran, according to police.

Police located a man who matched the description of the suspect on Bluestone Drive. Police are investigating.

  • Tires were reportedly slashed on two cars parked at Wynnbrooke Manor Court in St. Charles between 9 p.m. July 9 and 8 a.m. July 10. Stereo equipment was taken from one car.
  • A 21-year-old woman found her rear side window had been smashed out by someone who used a large landscape rock sometime around 1:45 a.m. July 10.
  • Police are investigating damage to a Domino's Pizza employee's vehicle, which was keyed and a tire flattened between 1:40 and 1:54 a.m. July 8. Possibly suspects have been identified.
  • The outer pane of glass was broken on a rear door to a house on Peachtree Lane sometime between 6 p.m. July 5 and noon July 7. 

Intimidation

  • A 45-year-old man reported that someone possibly flourished a handgun in front of his house at Boones Lick Road around 11:53 a.m. July 8 after a "road rage" incident. 

Stealing

  • A business on Zumbehl Road reported a former employee stole more than $2,300 before quitting.
  • A flashlight, push blade knife, wooden baseball bat and drill bit case were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at Olive Street in St. Charles between 1 a.m. and 11 a.m. July 8.
  • A 2001 Buick Century was reported stolen between 1:50 p.m. and 6:13 p.m. July 8 from West Clay and was recovered. 
  • A 2005 Honda Civic, valued at $10,000, was stolen from the 1800 block of North Third Street in St. Charles between 1 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. July 8.
  • Someone broke a padlock on a storage closet on North Benton Avenue and stole $100 in troll dolls. The incident was reported around 1 p.m. July 7. 

Arrest

  • Police arrested someone on outstanding warrants from a home on Tecumseh Street around 1:46 a.m. July 8 after someone reported a noise disturbance.
