Orchard Farm School District MAP Test Scores

Orchard Farm High School meets goals for achievement on both reading and math end of course exams.

Almost 87 percent of high schoolers at Orchard Farm High School tested at grade level or higher on the end of course communication arts test this year.

That's well above the state goal for 75.5 percent of students testing grade level this year, and represents a bright spot in the district. The high school was the only school in the district to meet state benchmarks in both reading and science, according to results released Thursday.

As expectations for scores on the continue to increase, it's difficult for schools to meet the benchmarks, although many continue to improve.

"I think it’s easy for our teachers to get distracted and get caught up in, what do all these things mean and all the pressures on them in the classroom," he said. "The thing that teachers can control is day to day instruction in the classroom. That's where they need to focus their efforts making sure they’re delivering the kind of instruction it takes for our kids to achieve."
