Nine Fish Fries in St. Charles and St. Peters

Lenten fish fries start on Feb. 15 and typically are each Friday through Lent, except Good Friday. Easter is March 29. Here are several fish fries to check out in St. Charles County. 

St. Cletus Catholic Church 

• 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Friday through March 22.
• Adults dinner $9, includes two pieces of fried cod or catfish, or a piece of seasoned baked cod; $9 for six pieces fried or boiled shrimp, $8 for whole cheese pizza. Seniors meals are $7 or $8. Meals for children are $5 and include a choice of cheese pizza, fried cod, catfish, or macaroni and cheese. The church also offers a piece of fried cod or seasoned baked cod ($6). All meals come with baked potato or french fries, green beans, three hush puppies, cole slaw, apple sauce, corn bread and drink. Dine in and carry out available. 

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 

• 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Friday through March 22.
• Adult dinner $9.50 (includes choice of fried cod, baked cod, catfish, cole slaw, homemade hush puppies, fries or baked potato) or a clam strip dinner is $8. Latino dinner $7.50 (includes two fish tacos, Spanish rice, homemade dessert), kid's dinner $4 (includes one slice cheese pizza or a piece of fish or clam strips, applesauce, fries and homemade dessert). Clam chowder is $1.50 a cup. Drinks include margaritas $3, Bud and Bud Light $2, soda $1, tea, lemonade or coffee are free. 

St. Peter Catholic Church

• 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Friday through March 22. 
• Adult dinner $10 (includes catfish, cod or shrimp dinner, French fries or baked potato, cole slaw, diced tomato sauce, hush puppies, corn bread, ice cream, coffee, team, and milk. Beer, wine and soda are available to buy). Frog legs, peel and eat shrimp are available for an extra cost. Children's meals are $5. 

Church of the Shepherd

• 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Friday through March 22. 
• Adult dinner $9, senior meal $8, children's meal $6. Arrive between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. for $1 off. Part of the proceeds benefit Feed My Starving Children. 

VFW Post 2866 Fish Fry

• 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. each week. 
• Adult dinner $8.50, sandwiches $5.50, child dinner $5.50. Choices include catfish, cod, shrimp, walleye, crappie or fried chicken strips. Three sides are included and choices are French fries, white beans, meatless spaghetti, potato salad, cole slaw and hush puppies. Desserts are $1.50. Fish and shrimp by the pound are $12. 

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Knights of Columbus Council 11382

• 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each Friday through March 22.
• Adult dinner $9, includes one entree, two sides, hush puppies, dessert, coffee or tea. Dine in or carry out between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. and receive $1 off.
• Entrees include fried cod, fried catfish, baked cod, fish tacos, fried clams, fried shrimp, shrimp skewers, fried shrimp/clam combo. Credit cards now accepted.

All Saints Catholic Parish

• 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through March 22. 
• Adult dinner is $9 and includes two pieces of fish or six pieces of butterfly shrimp or one piece of fish and three shrimp and three sides. Child dinner is $5 for one piece of fish and two sides. Pizza dinner includes two slices of pizza and one side for $4. Sides include French fries, seasoned curly fries, cole slaw, spaghetti and green beans. Children under age 5 eat free. Seniors get $1 off. 

Knights of Columbus-Cottleville

• 4 to 8 p.m. each Friday through March 22. 
• Adult dinner is $9 and includes two pieces of fish or eight pieces of shrimp and two side dishes, or one piece of fish or four pieces of shrimp and two sides for $6. Fish options are catfish, baked fish or white fish. Children ages 5 and younger eat free at the hall. Desserts are $1.

Sts. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church

• 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through March 22. 
• Seafood platter includes cod, catfish or crabcake, three butterfly shrimp a cup of soup, three sides and a dessert for $9. Dinner plates with choice of catfish, cod baked fish or fried shrimp in either large, $8.50 (two pieces of shrimp and three sides) or small, $6.25 (one piece fish, two sides).
•  Sea Sliders (a small fish sandwich on bun with cheese) range from $7.50 for four sandwiches and three sides to a sandwich only for $1.50. Other options include spaghetti, cheese pizza, soup. Coffee, iced tea, lemonade, water, dessert are free with dinner purchase.
