Lane Closures on Blanchette Bridge Start Sept. 14

MoDOT will close one lane in each direction for three weeks.

One lane in each direction on Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Bridge will close starting Friday for three weeks.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the median lanes between Fifth Street in and Earth City Expressway between Sept. 14 and Oct. 9 so crews can build a crossover in the median.

When the westbound I-70 bridge closes in November, cars will cross from the westbound lane to the eastbound bridge which will have three lanes in each direction and then back to the westbound lane of I-70 once they have crossed the river.

Crews will close one lane in each direction starting at 8 p.m. Sept. 14 and at times during the weekend two lanes in each direction may be closed.

According to a press release from MoDOT, rush hour traffic will be impacted by these closures and drivers are encouraged to consider alternate routes.

See a map with alternate routes here. Learn more about the project by checking out our earlier articles.

Yeah, it saddened us when we realized that someone had discretely made a generous item donation butRead More had left their wallet in the donated gym bag. Our social media director Dawn Thomas was able to locate the teen and "Renew that Treasure " to it's owner. It gave us all such joy!
