Get Out: Five Things to Do in St. Charles This Weekend

Check out what's happening around town June 17, 18 and 19.

Grab a blanket and head to Frontier Park in St. Charles for a performance of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. The play runs from 7-10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and June 24 and 25. A matinee performance is scheduled for 5 p.m. June 26.

The opening reception for "Contemporary Narrative" is from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Enjoy free food and drink with artful conversation about the new exhibit. In “Contemporary Narrative,” artists visually convey their own stories to the viewer. “Contemporary Narrative” will exhibit at the Foundry Art Centre from June 17 – July 29, 2011 in Gallery I & II.

The St. Charles County YMCA is hosting a rummage sale to benefit the international organization, Y World Service. The event runs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the  .

Lyal Strickland Performs at Picasso's: Head to Picasso's Coffee House on Saturday from 8-11 p.m. Saturday for live music from Lyal Strickland, an Ozark native.

Families can head to the Katy Trail trailhead or other locations on the trail on Saturday between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. to participate in a bike ride to Defiance, MO. Participation benefits the Siteman Cancer Research Center.

Bonus: St. Peters New Old Town Picnic: American Legion Post 313 and New Old Town Picnic Committee are hosting the New Old Town Picnic in Old Town St. Peters. The picnic is Friday from 5-11:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11:30 in Old Town.
