Friday Food Critic: Lewis and Clark's

What do you think of this St. Charles restaurant?

When it comes to restaurants, St. Charles has it covered.

We have some great local places that many would consider community gems; we have some mom-and-pop diners; and we certainly—for better or for worse—have plenty of chains lining our main streets.

But what we don't have is a consistent food critic to tell us what's good and what's not.

That's where you come in.

We could throw some money at a professional food critic, but that's not exactly what Patch is all about. We'd much rather know the opinion of the fine folks that eat there day-in and day-out.

It's your community. You eat the food. You tell us if it passes the mark.

That's why we are introducing The Friday Food Critic, where each week we will put a different restaurant on the chopping block. You tell us how you feel about it, what dishes are good, who has the best drink specials and so forth.

This week's restaurant is a dinner place that's been in downtown St. Charles for years.

To review  simply click on their name. You'll be directed toward their community listing in our places directory, where you can rate them on a five-star system or write a personal review.

At St. Charles Patch, we believe your words of wisdom are better than any food critic. Leave a note, tell us what you think.

We have lived in down town St. Chuck for many years now, We used to go to Lewis & Clark's about once a week for a bit of wind down time. We stopped because the food became gross and the servers started treating people like they were the ones getting paid to be there. The last straw was when I needed to send my pot. skins back for being very badly burned , the server told me , and I quote, " they look like all the rest , cant you just eat them" . So for now I have to give them a thumbs down for locals.,,, but hey we always have the unsuspecting tourist to take up the slack.

Yeah, it saddened us when we realized that someone had discretely made a generous item donation butRead More had left their wallet in the donated gym bag. Our social media director Dawn Thomas was able to locate the teen and "Renew that Treasure " to it's owner. It gave us all such joy!
