5 Festivals to Check Out This Weekend

St. Charles Patch has a round up of events happening across the St. Louis region this weekend.

  • 7th Annual Irish Festival, Frontier Park, St. Charles May 28-30. Annual festival celebrating Irish culture has been moved from the fall to the spring. Expect to hear Irish music, sample Irish food and try Irish set dancing. Festival runs Friday night, Saturday 10 am to 10:30 pm, Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Rib America Festival, 1315 Chestnut Street, St. Louis (Soldiers Memorial Plaza) May 28-30. The festival features award-winning barbecue served by barbecue teams from across the country. Free admission before 1 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Admission is  $6 after 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Free for children 12 and younger.
  • Greekfest celebrates Greek culture, food, dance and music at in Town and Country. The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Monday. Parking, shuttle and admission to the festival are free. Food and beverages are available for purchase.
  • Enjoy the fascinating performances of more than thirty dance companies. Tickets for each night's performance are only $10.  Each evening there are three shows in one. These events are held at the Touhill Performing Art Theatre in the Lee and Anheuser-Busch performance halls at University of Missouri, St. Louis.
  • is a community carnival organized by volunteers in University City. The fair kicks off with a community parade at noon Sunday, followed by performances from Heather Dawn Band, Fanfare and St. Louis Flamenco Cultural Society. Food, rides and games will be available. The fair continues Monday.
