Golfers Tee Off in Support of Crisis Nursery: 18th Annual Charity Golf Classic Nets $76,000

Crisis Nursery supporters raise $76,000 at 18th annual Charity Golf Classic. All proceeds will go to programs that help save babies' lives, keep kids safe, and build strong families.

More than 30 teams of corporate and community supporters gathered on the greens  for a four-person scramble in support of Saint Louis Crisis Nursery’s nationally known and trusted safe havens that provide free emergency care for kids, ages birth through 12, 24 hours a day.

Held at the recently renovated Forest Hills Country Club, the annual tournament was sponsored by numerous mission driven supporters, including Emerson, Ernst & Young and Crisis Nursery Board Member Jeff Jackson, BJC Healthcare, Centene Corporation, Custom Communications, Hardee’s Food Systems, Inc., Coca-Cola, Nestlé Purina Petcare and KMOV, News 4.

Since 1986, the Nursery has provided support to more than 88,000 families in
need.  DiAnne Mueller, Crisis Nursery’s CEO, says the tournament’s
proceeds will help to continue much needed services for many families who are
faced with unexpected crisis, such as parental stress or lack of food or
utilities.

“It’s exciting to know that these generous supporters took a break from their
professional responsibilities to show their support for and donate to Crisis
Nursery’s babies, children and families,” said Mueller. “Their commitment has
shown that they are a part of the working solution to prevent child abuse and
neglect!"

This year’s committee included co-chairs Kurt Beanblossom, Jeff Jackson, Jodi Lang, Mark Van Roekel, and Jim Wagner.  The vice chairs were Jim Allen, Dan
Fitter, Joel Green, Tom Morrell, and Pete Wazlawek. KMOV’s "News 4 St. Louis" Sports Director Steve Savard served as honorary chair.
