SSM Urgent Care adds St. Charles location

St. Louis will open a fourth urgent care center Sept. 23 in St. Charles. The new SSM Urgent Care site is located at 1551 Wall Street next to Sam’s Club at the Zumbehl exit off of I-70. It will operate as a service of SSM St. Joseph Health Center. It will serve patients from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, including most holidays.

The new center is under the medical direction of a board-certified physician and is staffed by experienced nurse practitioners. It features on-site X-ray and laboratory capabilities. Patients may also choose to use SSM’s online check-in system to reduce waits once they arrive at the center. They can check in at ssmhealth.com/urgent. In addition, SSM Urgent Care uses electronic medical records that allow for a patient’s medical information to be shared instantaneously between the center and SSM Medical Group physicians.

Employees are invited to check out the new SSM Urgent Care location during an open house from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18. Tour the facility, meet the staff, enjoy refreshments and pick up a free first aid kit.

SSM Urgent Care is designed for patients with minor medical needs who can’t wait to be seen by their primary care doctor and whose condition does not warrant an emergency room (ER) visit. Urgent care visits are generally faster and less expensive than an ER visit. Patients may visit ssmhealth.com/urgent for a list of conditions that are appropriate for seeking treatment at SSM Urgent Care. The center also provides immunizations and other non-emergent medical services.
