Racecar Driver and Social Intelligence Expert Team Up to Provide Unique Training Series

Take the Lead: Workshops to Get the Mind, Heart and Adrenaline Racing

June 5, 2014: St. Louis, MO – A new partnership promises to be a unique way for businesses, individuals and organizations to enhance leadership skills at work, school and home this summer.  Mike Johnson, owner of Pole Position Raceway – an indoor kart racing facility, and Judy Ryan, owner of LifeWork Systems – an award-winning training and consulting company, have joined forces to create “Take the Lead,” a series of workshops designed to grow professional and personal development muscles while getting the heart racing.

From June through August, Pole Position Raceway is kicking off the partnership by hosting workshops provided by LifeWork Systems. The series, which is open to the public, spans a wide range of topics from how to create an extraordinary culture, deal with negative behavior, reduce gossip, build trust and teamwork, communicate better and get motivated. Workshops are three or five hours and are followed by lunch and plenty of on-track excitement.

“When people first hear of a partnership combining professional development and kart racing, they sometimes scratch their heads,” says Ryan. “This partnership means we give people the chance to increase their personal and professional success by engaging it all - their mind, heart, body and spirit. These programs are a great fit for any group – executives, teachers, parents, nonprofit leaders – which is ready to enhance its professional and personal effectiveness.”

Many who have attended LifeWork Systems workshops point out they are not training as usual. They are challenging, experiential and designed specifically to inspire the creation of systems, which lead to long-term, sustained success.

“These programs don’t just skim the surface of an issue. They really challenge each person to ask themselves some tough questions and to make unexpected behavior changes,” says Johnson, a former racecar driver who currently manages a car racing team. “After considering what is needed to get along, get inspired and get more done, getting on the track is a great way to wrap up a mentally and physically stimulating day. Altogether this adds up to game-changing lessons combined with pure fun.”
