Tucanos Brazilian Grill to Open Feb. 13

Restaurant is one of two expected to open in Streets of St. Charles this spring.

A new Brazilian restaurant will open in St. Charles on Feb. 13. 

Tucanos Brazilian Grill is a chain of restaurants based in Utah. The restaurants offer traditional Brazilian grilling, churrasco, in which servers walk around with different cuts of grilled meat and vegetables on large skewers and guests are served individually.

The new restaurant in St. Charles will be the seventh location in the country and the first full restaurant to open in the Streets of St. Charles development on Fifth Street. 

Tucanos has plans to hire 150 people and will host a job fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 17. Personal interviews will be conducted at the restaurant at 1520 South Fifth Street.  Applications can be submitted online or in-person at the restaurant.

“Tucanos Brazilian Grill enhances the landscape at Streets of St. Charles, not to mention the key employment aspects provided in our community at large,” St. Charles Mayor Sally Faith said in a press release. “We could not be more delighted that Tucanos will have the ability to effectively staff some 150 employees from the area, including servers, chefs, food preparers and management.”

The restaurant will have a custom bar and outdoor patio and will seat 216 people inside. Restaurant hours will be Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant will open Feb. 13. Reservations can be made by calling 636-724-4499.
