Stone Cellar Fondue closed this week after 19 months of serving fondue in St. Charles. It was located at 524 South Main Street in the cellar below Figuero's.
The restaurant owners posted a note on Facebook.
"With very sad hearts, we have to announce that The Stone Cellar is closed. This was done for personal family reasons and is effective immediately. We want to say thank you to each and every one of our loyal customers who have supported us and cheered us on. We have made many new friends over the past two years and will genuinely miss serving you.
We also want to say thank you to the best staff on the planet. Every one of our employees have been with us since we opened and have become family to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your hard work, determination and professionalism. We have had many laughs together and made friends for life."
