St. Louis Area Casino Revenue Down in August

Missouri Gaming Commission releases monthly revenue reports.

Missouri Gaming Commission and the Illinois Gaming Board released the revenue reports for St. Louis metro area casinos in August.

  • Revenue for in St. Charles was down 9.2 percent from July to August of this year. Ameristar’s yearly revenue dropped 3 percent, from $22.8 million in August 2010 to $22.2 million in August 2011.
  • in Maryland Heights’ saw a 13.8-percent drop in revenue from July to August of this year. Harrah’s revenue was at $22.5 million in August 2010, but was down to $21.1 million in August 2011, a 6-percent loss in revenue since last year.
  • River City Casino in south St. Louis was down 4.7 percent from July to August. However, River City’s revenue was up 12 percent since the previous year, from $14.8 million in August 2010 to $16.5 million in August 2011.
  • The Argosy Casino in Alton also saw a drop in revenue from July to August, but an increase year over year. Argosy’s revenue was down 3.8 percent from July to August, but revenue was up 5 percent since the previous year. Revenue in August 2010 was $15.4 million, while revenue in August 2011 was $16.1 million.
  • Lumière Place’s revenue decreased 10.4 percent from July to August of this year. The downtown St. Louis casino’s yearly revenue decreased 5 percent, from $14.5 million in August 2010 to $13.7 million in August 2011.
  • Casino Queen in East St. Louis revenue was down 9.1 percent from July to August, as well as 1.8-percent drop in revenue year over year. Revenue for August 2010 was $10.5 million. Revenue for August 2011 was $10.3 million.
