Several Businesses Host Grand Openings

Owners of Bliss Eleven Studio, I Am Who I Am, and It Boutique and More are planning a grand opening for Friday through Sunday. All three businesses recently opened shops on North Main Street.

Laurie Nowling, owner of Bliss Eleven Studios, had a studio location on North Main Street, but it wasn’t very visible to the community. She teamed up with Jessi Gisburne, owner of I Am What I Am, to open a joint retail shop and studio space at 107 North Main Street.

Gisburne of O’Fallon, MO has her own jewelry line and sold her items at Chesterfield Mall in a shop called Fusion. She wanted the opportunity to start her own business that would display local artists goods ranging from clothing to jewelry to sculptures.

“I love Main Street,” she said. “I love the atmosphere, I love the events.”

Heather Highfield moved her shop, It Boutique and More, from New Town St. Charles to 125 North Main Street in early April. In New Town her shop didn’t get the traffic she anticipated since she opened in 2008, Highfield said. Highfield, who lives in New Town, said she expects to see a larger mix of shoppers on Main Street. It Boutique and More sells several lines of clothing, handmade necklaces, and gifts. 

The three businesses are hosting . 

• Qdoba Mexican Grill held a grand opening ribbon cutting with the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce April 7. The general nanager is Jim Ehrhart. The business is located at 315 Bass Pro Drive.
• The Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet held a ribbon cutting April 6. The Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet is located at 3801 Mexico Road. The general manager is Jennifer Zhen Yang.  
• Sarah Brenker, financial advisor with Edward Jones, celebrated her first year in business with a ribbon cutting April 5 at her office located at 2299 Elm Street in St. Charles.
• Julie Mueller, vice president for operations and finance and chief operating officer for Lindenwood University, was added to the Community Advisory Board for SSM St. Joseph Health Center. Mueller will serve a three-year term.
• Gaspare Calvaruso, president of SSM St. Joseph Health Center, SSM St. Joseph Health Center-Wentzville, SSM St. Joseph Medical Park and service line executive for SSM Cancer Care, was appointed to Lindenwood University's Board of Directors.
