Doughnut Wars: Dunkin' Donuts vs Local Doughnut Shops

Readers debate the best place to find doughnuts in St. Charles.

With a Dunkin' Donuts about to open in St. Charles, St. Charles Patch readers on Facebook started a debate about the national chain.
Some said they were excited for the restaurant to open, while others professed love for other local donuts shops. 

"HALLELUJAH!!!! REAL DONUTS!" said Kathryn Crisler

"Welcome to the neighborhood Dunkin'! Going to be nice with you being right down the street from us," Neal J Dalton said. 

Jack Cox said, "You can either support a chain fast food joint selling average donuts or you can patronize a St. Charles family business that has been around for decades with a much better product and whose profits stay in the area. My money goes to Donut King."

Andrew Michael Felder added, "St. Charles is home of DONUT KING, the greatest donuts in the land. If you support DUNKIN' DONUTS not only are you consuming an inferior product, you are also not supporting St. Charles."
