Business News: Hendricks BBQ Set to Open Aug. 30

Wise Owl Resale hosts grand opening celebration Sept. 8.

Hendricks BBQ plans to open to the general public at 4 p.m. Aug. 30. 

The barbecue spot is opening at 1200 South Main Street in the former Municipal Waterworks building, which used to be a Maryland Yards. 

The restaurant is descibed in a press release as "featuring classic American BBQ — offering delicious comfort food, homemade sides, made-from-scratch desserts, specialty cocktails and southern hospitality."

Restaurateurs Gurpreet Padda and Amy Grimes are opening the barbecue joint which they described as offering meats that are "slow smoked and dry rubbed" according to an article in Sauce Magazine.

They also own four other restaurants including Sanctuaria and Cathedral Square Brewery.

Wise Owl Resale

A new consignment shop opened up at 301 Droste Road in St. Charles, in the former Johnny Mac's Sporting goods store, which closed earlier in 2012. 

Wise Owl Resale offers people the opportunity to consign merchandise ranging from furniture, home decor, clothing, household goods, antiques and children's items. Items are on the floor for 90 days. The proceeds are split equally between the shop and consigner. 

Wise Owl Resale will host a grand opening event from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 8 which will include refreshments, door prizes and music.
