'Be Different' Tops Local Best-Seller List

Book offers adults a glimpse at what it's like to have Asperger's Syndrome and practical tips.

John Elder Robison writes about his life growing up with a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome in Be Different.

Robison offers a peak into the grittier side of interpersonal challenges that he faces, according to this review posted on KirkusReviews.com.

According to his website, Robison's book gives people advice for when to embrace their eccentricities and when to try to fit in, as well as embracing the gifts that you've been given.

Be Different was no. 1 on the best-seller list for the five St. Louis-area independent bookstores from the week of April 1. The bookstores include Left Bank Books in the Central West End, Main Street Books in St. Charles,  Pudd'nhead Books in Webster Groves, Subterranean Books in University City, and Sue's News at the St. Louis Galleria.
