Police Asking for Help Finding Suspects in Walmart Theft

The suspect offered to help the 83-year-old victim with her shopping, police say.

The St. Charles Police Department issued a press release today asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects in a theft last week in the parking lot of a Walmart at 2897 Veteran’s Memorial Parkway.

Police say that the 83-year-old victim was approached by a female and a male inside the Walmart and that the female said she was a shopper's assistant for the store.

The victim allowed the female suspect to assist her with shopping, checkout, and loading her bags into the car.

The victim then leaned into her backseat to retrieve a can of beans, which she gave to the suspect as a thank you. 

The suspect then left.

When the victim checked her purse, she noticed that her wallet was missing, with several hundred dollars and her driver’s license.

The theft was caught on security footage that showed the suspect taking the wallet out of the victim's purse while the victim was reaching into the back seat and then concealing the wallet on her person.  

The suspect left in a vehicle with the male subject.

Police ask that anyone who can identify the pictured subjects and vehicle, or anyone with information about to this crime contact the St. Charles Police Department at 636-949-3344.
