Why go: This annual juried exhibition features art that uses paper as its
main component.

Where/When: The book signing is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. The workshop is at 2 p.m. Saturday. Both are at Rock Paper Scissors, 833 S. Main St., St. Charles.
Why go: Artist and author Mary Beth Shaw will sign copies of her new book Flavor For Mixed Media and lead a mixed-media workshop. Bring an apron and gloves for the workshop.

4. Missouri Valley Conference 2011 Women's Basketball Tournament
Where/When: Thursday-Sunday at The Family Arena, 2002 Arena Parkway, St. Charles
Why go: The four-day tournament features all 10 schools in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Pricing: $17 reserved seating, $9 general admission
5. Passport to St. Charles County Parks: Bangert Island
Where/When: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 12 at Bangert Island in St. Charles.
Why go: Nick Dziuba, of the Natural Resource Division and park ranger John Bugh will lead a walk on the island and discuss big river eco systems. The passport program encourages residents to attend four passport program events to receive a price. In case of inclement weather call 636-949-7475 to find out if the event is canceled.
