Why go: Students in Lindenwood’s Advanced Directing class present an evening of one-act plays, ranging from comedy to drama; some selections include mature content.

3. St. Charles County Youth Orchestra Spring Concert
Where/When: 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Lindenwood Cultural Center, 400 N. Kingshighway St., St. Charles
Why go: The spring concert will feature SCCYO 2010 concerto competition winners Anna Wells (piano) and Jonathan Romanko (violin).
Pricing: $4 adult, $2 child, free ages 5 and younger
4. Dr. Zhivegas
Where/When: Friday-Saturday, Bottleneck Blues Bar in Ameristar Casino St. Charles, One Ameristar Blvd., St. Charles.
Why go: The popular St. Louis band performs '70s disco and a variety of pop music.
Pricing: $5 cover, must be 21 or older
5. Les Misérables School Edition
Where/When: 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday, March 25-26, St. Charles Community College, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters.
Why go: Inspector Javert continues to pursue Jean Valjean in this kid-friendly version of the popular musical based on Victor Hugo's novel.
