New Executive Director Takes the Helm at Foundry Arts Centre

The Foundry Art Centre has a new Executive Director.

Angela Fowle, who served most recently as the center's Exhibitions Manager, was named as the new Executive Director.

Former Executive Director Laura Helling is moving on to new position in development at international humanitarian organization Wings of Hope.   

Fowle graduated from Lindenwood University with a B.A. and M.A. in Art History and an M.F.A. in writing. She has served as the St. Charles, Missouri Regional Coordinator for the national “Poetry Out Loud” Recitation Contest.

"Fowle . . . brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from her previous service within our organization, as well as her background as a successful business owner," Board President Gary Shaw said.

During the last three and a half years under director Helling, the Foundry Art Centre has been through significant facility upgrades, a Centre press release reported. The upgrades include:

• A Smithsonian-caliber gallery and museum space
• A concerted effort in the development of arts educational programming for adults and children
• A major expansion of community arts offerings and opportunities. 
• Nationally-recognized art exhibitions and juried artists
• The addition of community/corporate partners and major grants and funding.

 “I am counting on my exceptional staff, Board of Directors, the Foundry Art Centre artists, supporters and partners to continue the growth of the FAC established by my predecessors,” Fowle said in the press release.
