Your Weekend: Music, Dance, BMX Racing

Here are our top five picks for the weekend.

1. BJ Thomas and Gary Puckett

Where/When: J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts, 2300 W. Clay St., St. Charles. 8 p.m. Saturday.

Why go: Two popular musicians of the 1960s and '70s share the stage. Thomas' hits include "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" and "(Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song." Puckett's hits include "Young Girl" and "Lady Willpower."

Pricing: Tickets are $28.50, $38.50, $46.50 and $54.50.

2. Nick of Time Players 

Where/When: J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts, 2300 W. Clay St., St. Charles. 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

Why go: Lindenwood talent will put on an improv show.

Pricing: The performance is free.

3. Percussion Discussion 

Where/When: First United Methodist Church, 801 First Capitol Drive, St. Charles. 10 a.m. Saturday.

Why go: Matt Henry and members of the University of Missouri-St. Louis Percussion Ensemble will present a program geared toward children of all ages.

Pricing: There is no monetary cost, but attendees should each bring one canned good or one dry-packaged food item for the hungry.

4. Wide Open Magazine Bike Show 

Where/When: The Family Arena, 2002 Arena Parkway, St. Charles. Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Why go: Do you love motorcycles? All makes and models are welcome at this popular event.

Pricing: $15, children under 12 admitted free.

5. JAMfest Cheer and Dance

Where/When: St. Charles Convention Center, 1 Convention Center Plaza, St. Charles. Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Why go: More than 75 cheer and dance teams will compete for The Wham JAM 2011 title.

Pricing: The event is free.
