How often do you get to help someone else just by going out on a Friday night? This week, anyone who attends a concert at the has that chance.
Midas has announced a $10,000 challenge to St. Louis and the surrounding communities to buy tickets for Gary Sinise's Lt. Dan Band Benefit Concert on Friday. The proceeds from the event will benefit Corporal Todd Nicely.
Nicely, of Arnold, is one of only three quad amputees to survive the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Although Sinise is the spokesperson for MIDAS, he is best known for his role in Forrest Gump as Lt. Dan and his current role on CSI: NY, as well as dozens of other movies over the years. On average, Sinise also does 35 USO Concerts each year.
For every ticket bought and/or donated to a veteran, up to $10,000, Midas will donate one ticket to a deserving St. Louis veteran through the USO of Missouri.
People can make a donation by calling 314-584-1600 or buy tickets through Metrotix.com at 314-534-1111.
"This Memorial Day, we ask that you remember the veterans that have fought for our country," said Clif Wilkerson, owner of four St. Louis-area Midas locations. "To honor them, we challenge St. Louis to buy tickets to the Lt. Dan Band Concert featuring Gary Sinise. For every ticket bought and/or donated to a veteran, we will donate another ticket to a deserving St. Louis veteran. We want to thank those individuals that have put their lives on the line to protect and defend our country."
The Tunnel to Towers foundation, with the help of Sinise, has committed to building smart homes for the three United States Military personnel who have paid the ultimate price by losing their arms and legs in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
"We also salute and want to help build Todd a Smart Home to assist him in becoming more independent," Wilkerson said. "So, please join us in our endeavor to build Todd a home."
