Foundry Art Centre Hosts Free Family Fun Day

Puppets will provide entertainment for the first Family Fun Day at the Foundry Art Centre this year. 

The Family Fun Day is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 10. Peppy Puppet Troupe will perform an original musical performance of "Little Red Riding Hood" at 1 p.m.  in the Foundry's new puppet theatre. 

The puppet theatre is part of Art Carousel, a space that has room for children's artwork, art-making areas and stations, a reading corner and other kid-centric features. Funding for Art Carousel came from a $20,000 grant from PNC Arts Alive. 

The Family Fun Day also marks the opening of the library and reading area in the Baue Family Children's Gallery. 

Children can make art projects based on the book of the month, create their own puppets and enjoy refreshments.
