"The Velvet Years 1965-67: Warhol's Factory" - Stephen Shore Photographs

Enter into the world of Andy Warhol through the lens of Stephen Shore in The Velvet Years, 1965-67: Warhol’s Factory at the Foundry Art Centre. These photographs, taken by Stephen Shore between 1965 and 1967, depict the scene at Andy Warhol’s studio, the Factory. Shore captures a time when Warhol was emerging as a prominent visual artist and avant-garde filmmaker. The Factory Shore depicts is populated with a diverse group of musicians, artists, actors, writers and aspiring cultural sophisticates.

The exhibition runs from September 21 – December 14, 2012 at the Foundry Art Centre and is free to the public. An opening reception will be held Friday, September 21 from 6-8pm with light refreshments and a retro atmosphere. The Lindenwood University Film Series will feature I Shot Andy Warhol and Factory Girl in Lindenwood’s Young Auditorium during the exhibition’s opening weekend.
