St. Charles Christmas Traditions

Christmas Traditions is a thirty year tradition in St. Charles filled with opportunities to meet Santa Claus from many different time periods, shopping and events.

The event starts Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgiving and continues through Dec. 24.

Some things you can do on Saturdays and Sundays:

  • Watch the Santa Parade down South Main Street at 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Watch "The Complete Works of Christmas" A Comical Interactive Christmas Mystery at the Grand Opera House Banquet and Event Center, dinner and show at the Grand Opera House Banquet and Event Center.
  • Complimentary Carriage Shuttle is available on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. 
  • See the official city Christmas Tree is planted in Berthold Square.
  • Visit Chestnut Roasters at 900 South Main Street.
  • Take Photos with Santa from noon to 5 p.m. in the Tourism Center. Professional Photos with santa are available for a nominal fee.
