One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Adapted from the novel by Ken Kesey, the story is set in the 1960s at a dreary mental institution in the Pacific Northwest. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest is a story about a charismatic rogue named Randle McMurphy who becomes a patient and finds that the ward is run by a tyrannical nurse. McMurphy befriends the patients, including a rather large deaf and mute Indian, and teaches them how to stand up for themselves. The result is a clash of two indomitable wills and an ending that will make you shudder and stand up and cheer.
This production takes place in the Emerson Black Box Theater.
