“It’s Easy Being Green” Expo

Learn how to be more green at the inaugural “It’s Easy Being Green” Expo from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at St. Charles Community College.

This family-friendly, free, community event will have environmentally friendly vendors and exhibitors, informative breakout sessions, demonstrations, kids workshops and recycling. The Expo will show and teach participants how to be greener by recycling, reusing and being energy efficient.

“There will be something for people of all ages,” said Yvonne Wills, dean of corporate and community development. “Bring the kids so they can learn how to be green, too.”

Executive Personal Computers (EPC) will provide electronic recycling, which will take place outside on the yellow parking lot on SCC’s campus. There will be a small fee for monitors and televisions, but other electronic devices, such as cell phones and fax machines can be recycled at no charge. No appliances, such as washers, dryers or dishwashers will be allowed.

The Home Depot will have kids workshops available to teach kids how to build birdhouses, sail boats and racecars.
