S. Fifth/S. River Road Construction Set for Oct. 15 Completion
  • Notice how congested the drive through South Fifth Street/South River Road has gotten just south of Interstate 70? See the drive through our camera as we navigate south through the construction. The project started in April and is due to finish on Oct. 15, according to the St. Charles city website.
New Executive Director Takes the Helm at Foundry Arts Centre
  • The Foundry Art Centre has a new Executive Director. Angela Fowle, who served most recently as the center's Exhibitions Manager, was named as the new Executive Director.
Planning and Zoning Approves Live Music at Little Hills Winery
  • The St. Charles Planning and Zoning Commission has given its approval for live music performances at the Little Hills Winery, 501 S. Main Street. The commission had received two concerns from neighboring residents, leading Planning Manager Jason Jaggi to suggest initially that performances be limited to the two terraces closest to South Main and prohibited from the terrace at the back, which is closest to the residences on 2nd Street.
Fans Cheer as Paddler Completes 340-Mile Race Down Missouri River
  • A crowd gathered on the banks of the Missouri River in St. Charles Thursday afternoon to welcome paddlers as they completed the Missouri American Water MR340, a race that stretches from Kansas City, Kansas to St. Charles. More than 340 boats entered the race and left Kaw Point on Tuesday morning. By Thursday night, 28 boats had made it to St. Charles. 
Witness Spots Man Breaking Into Cars in St. Charles, Police Say
  • A man faces criminal charges after a St. Charles resident spotted him breaking into cars Friday in the 1700 block of Waterfall Drive. Travis Patterson, 24, of the 1100 block of Country Club Road in St. Charles, was charged Friday with theft of a credit card, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer.
