The St. Charles Candyman Can

Husband and wife team Jim and Kathy Brown have owned and operated Riverside Sweets for 11 years.

The pair were looking for a different life than what the corporate world offered when the Browns started making candy in Nevada. During a visit with friends in St. Charles, they realized they wanted to be here.

Their shop in historic St. Charles, 416 South Main, was the perfect environment for raising their three daughters. The girls have all worked in the shop growing up and during summer breaks from college. The quaint, old-fashioned sweet shop is warm and inviting as you are welcomed in to the aroma of the homemade sweets.
