Pet of the Week: Slim Jim, the Bloodhound

Slim Jim 

Slim Jim is a bloodhound mix who is one year old. He was found in a high kill shelter. Slim Jim gets along with dogs and cats. He should go to a home with bigger kids due to his size and be in a fenced yard. He has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations.

The Heartland Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit group of dedicated foster homes that gives abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals another chance for loving, permanent homes through our adoption program, following the no-kill philosophy. We reduce pet overpopulation in our community through collaboration with veterinarians, animal welfare organizations, and supportive individuals and organizations by providing affordable spay/neuter procedures and humane education. Heartland Humane Society of Missouri is funded by adoption fees, donations, fundraising events, grants and tributes.

Molly was abandoned on a very hot and dry, gravel road. She was found very weak, scared and severely under-weight. But sweet Molly has bucked the system! She is quite the lover and adores attention and has a sweet disposition. 

About PALS 

Pals is a 501(c)3 certified nonprofit all-volunteer animal rescue organization based in Lincoln County. Pals is a no-kill shelter essentially, with animals euthanized only if animals are too sick to be treated or too aggresive to be suitable for adoption. Pals will be at  in St. Charles on June 23. 

Diva

Diva is a beautiful 10 year old, tortoiseshell cat. Her personality is quiet and independent. Diva likes to spend her days laying in her favorite bed at the shelter. She also loves bird watching and sunning by the windows. She is not very vocal until she get hungry, then she will meow softly to let you know she needs her dinner. Diva uses her litter box like a lady and would make a great pet for someone looking for a low maintenance companion. You can meet Diva at Five Acres Tuesday through Friday 2-6pm or Saturday and Sunday noon-6pm.

We are the only no kill shelter in St. Charles County and rely completely on private support. We rescue and find homes for hundreds of dogs and cats every year.
