Five Upcoming Events for Fall

Check out these reasons to get outside while the weather is warm.

There are so many reasons to enjoy the fall season. Changing leaves and Halloween are a given, but St. Charles has a lot more to offer than just that.

September and October are jam-packed with great events to check out before the weather gets chilly and you'll want to stay inside. St. Charles Patch invites you to enjoy your city's community warmth and have fun with these five picks.

  • Mosaics Missouri Festival for the Arts: Stroll down Main Street and enjoy the works of 110 artists with mixed mediums from sculpture to metalwork and glass. Artists will also be selling their work at prices that are accessible for everybody. This event is coming up this weekend, Sept. 16 - 18. Check the festival's website for more details.
  • Oktoberfest: This annual event which will be Sept. 23-25. Oktoberfest is a celebration of food, drink and shopping galore. Why Oktoberfest as the festival's name when it's held in September? You can find out for yourself by checking out the website. Oktoberfest is held at and has something for the whole family.
  • Quilt National: The biennial quilt art competition is back this year in St. Charles, complete with judges and prizes. See why quilting is truly considered an art form, and don't feel like you can only go once - Quilt National will be held from Oct. 2 through Nov. 4 at the .
  • Ride the Rivers Century Bicycle Ride: For bike enthusiasts, what better time to ride 100 miles than in the cool autumn weather? Immerse yourself in beautiful scenery as you make your way from St. Charles over to the Riverfront trail, rolling by the Arch and into Illinois before making its way home. The ride will happen on Sunday, Oct. 9.
  •  Missouri Day Celebration - This is a great opportunity to have fun while educating yourself about your state's history. Learn about famous Missourians that have made a difference in the world and interact with various media and hands-on crafts. This event is free, open to the public and will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at the on South Main St.
