Five Things to Do with Kids on June 25

Check out our list of kid-friendly events happening around town..

New Melle Festival: Saturday June 25 is the last day of the New Melle Festival at 4700 Highway Z, New Melle, MO. Admission is $5 and children 12 and younger get in free. Grounds open up at 1 p.m. and close at 12:30 a.m. Come early (1-5 p.m.) for carnival rides, or for the washer tournament (3:30 p.m.). At 5 p.m. you can watch the parade and dance to the Dave Glover Band from 8 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

Head to Faust Park in Chesterfield between 1-5 p.m. Saturday, June 25 and tour the 19th century structures with guides in period dress.

Go Camping: The First Missouri State Capitol Historic Site on Main Street in St. Charles will host a Great American  noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 25 and see how camping has changed since the 1820s. Check out techniques for fire starting, campfire cooking, weapons demonstrations and historic games.

Take a Hike: Check out one of the St. Charles County Parks, which have many trails for hiking or mountain biking. Broemmelsiek Park has an off-leash dog park area if you'd like to bring your dog to run around.

See a $5 movie: Movies playing at before 10 a.m. are just $5 every day. On the schedule for Saturday June 25, you can see: Bad Teacher, Bridesmaids, Cars 2, Green Lantern, Hangover Part II, Judy Moody and the Not So Bummer Summer, Midnight in Paris, Mr. Popper's Penguins, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 on Stranger Tieds, Super 8, Thor or X Men: First Class.
