  • When/Where? Friday, March 9 at 7:30 a.m. at 1 Dye Club Dr. in St. Peters.
  • What? Partners for Progress honors 16 high school students for excelling in science, technology, engineering and math at the Annual STEM Recognition Breakfast.

Family Movie Night at the Y

  • When/Where? Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m. at  , 3900 Shady Springs Ln. in St. Peters.
  • What? Bring the kids out to watch Puss and Boots for free. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. Concessions will be on sale to benefit the YMCA's International Campaign. Chairs will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own chairs and blankets.

Drop Avenue: Live at St. Charles High School

  • When/Where? Friday, March 9 at 6 p.m. at , 725 N Kingshighway St. in St. Charles.
  • What? The St. Charles-based punk band will perform for the high schools band fundraiser "Pops and Pasta." Admission is $10, and includes a pasta dinner, ice cream, various performances put on by the St. Charles High School band program and Drop Avenue.

Javier Mendoza Concert

  • When/Where? Friday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the  , 520 N Main Ctr. in St. Charles.
  • What? Singer-songwriter, guitarist, storyteller Javier Mendoza performs in both English and Spanish. A cash bar by Quintessential Dining and Nightlife is available and doors open at 6:30pm. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the art centre's website or call 636-255-0270.

  • When/Where? March 2 – April 13, 2012
  • What? “Shooting Square: iPhoneography by Michael Schoenewies” show will feature photography shot and editedthrough an iPhone. The iPhone and apps such as Instagram have changed photography and enabled peopleto share photos and build communities worldwide. Michael's photographs encompass urban decay, street photography, and scenic photos including locationsfrom the United States to Canada to Israel. For more information, please visit www.atomicplayboyphoto.com.

Hike Louis H. Bangert Memorial Wildlife Area

  • When/Where? Saturday, March 10 at 9:45 a.m. at Old South River Road and Fifth Street, St. Charles.
  • What? The St. Charles County Parks Department presents theSt. Charles County Hiking Series, which began in February and continues through April. This weekend, hike hree plus miles through this 160-acre park that is surrounded by the great Missouri River. Hikers carpooling to the event should meet at Backwoods St. Louis, 9 Fountain Grass Dr., in Lake St. Louis, by 9 a.m.  Hikes are scheduled to begin by 9:45 a.m. For more information, contact Parks Program Coordinator, Bekin Youngblood, at 636-949-7535.

  • When/Where? Saturday, March 10, 2012, 9 p.m. at , 3249 Rue Royale, Saint Charles
  • What? Mojo Hand will be at Padavan's March 10th from 9pm-1am. They play a variety of music like 311, Sublime and Foo Fighters to Billy Joel, The Beatles and The Doors. There should be a little of something for everybody.

  • When/Where? Saturday, March 10, 2012, 8 p.m. , 1701 N 2nd St, St. Charles, MO
  • What? Irish Set Dancing is truly a social dance. It definitely counts as exercise. Set dancers tend to be nice people who like having fun, and you probably want more people like this in your life. Beginners are quite welcome.   • What? Watch Night of the Hunter at Lindenwood on Friday. Lindenwood University Film Series has expanded to include concessions, soda, popcorn and candy for $1. Tickets are $5 for general admission. Send suggestions to film@lindenwood.edu.

  • What? Children 12 years old and younger are invited to join us for a special afternoon of creating whimsical crafts at the Foundry Art Centre on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 1-3pm. Parents are encouraged to join their children in the creative process. Cookies and lemonade will be served and at 2:00pm enjoy the performance of Stories Around The World Puppet Show by storyteller and puppeteer, Joy Nack. Family Fun Day is open to the public and free of charge. This event has been underwritten, in part, by Ameren.
