The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of St. Charles is an overnight event to raise money for cancer research. We celebrate the lives of survivors and we memorialize those we have lost to cancer. It is held overnight to symbolize the path a cancer patient takes. At sunset, we get our diagnosis and then the night gets darker and longer, which symbolizes our tiredness, our treatments and the feeling of "how much more can I take." Then the sun comes up on our new day, when we are in remission or are declared cancer free! We make this event special for the survivors and caregivers. If you have heard those three dreaded words,"you have cancer," and you are still breathing, you are a survivor! A caregiver is a special someone who has been on the journey or has lost someone to the battle. Relay For Life will be held on June 8-9, 2012 at the St.Charles High School. Opening ceremonies will be held at 7:00 pm. If you are interested in forming a team, being on the committee or just to learn about Relay, check out www.relayforlife.org/stcharlesmo. This event is open to the public! Come have fun with us!
