The Hangover Part III   Patch Blogger Mark Glass: *** Those who have hung with the rather ironically, if not delusionally, dubbed "Wolfpack" through two madcap raunchy adventures will certainly show up for this (promised) final foray into the unintended consequences of guys-being-guys revelries. This time, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha don’t suffer the effects of a bachelor-party-run-amok. They’ve supposedly learned their lessons. The other three are driving Zach to …

Star Trek: Into Darkness   Patch Blogger Mark Glass: **** It’s time again to boldly go ... where tons of TV and movie cameras have gone before. Space. The final frontier. For context, this is the second feature film showing the original crew of the Enterprise in the beginning of their careers, in an alternate time line, allowing both overlaps and variations from the stories and characters that started the whole  franchise. That allows Benedict Cumberbatch (best known as a contemporary Sherlock …

The Song Continues For Caroline Glaser, Picasso's Performer Eliminated From "The Voice"

The 18-year-old singer-songwriter talked about her future in a recent interview at the studio of news channel KSDK.

For fans of Caroline Glaser, the question on their mind since she was eliminated from “The Voice” last week has been, “What’s next?” Glaser, one of 16 finalists to make it the live rounds of the NBC contest and frequent performer at Picasso's Coffee House, answered that and other questions when she stopped into the studio of St. Louis TV station KSDK Monday. “The whole experience was so motivating for me. I’m just going to keep going and keep writing,” Glaser told Channel 5’s Heidi Glaus. “My fanbase has just grown so much.” The aspiring singer-songwriter hopes to have new music within a month of the show’s finale. She’ll keep watching, she said, because all the people she met while in California where “awesome and genuine.” It was quite a…

The Great Gatsby Patch Blogger Mark Glass: **½ This latest screen version of the classic novel is a mixed bag of assets and flaws. Director and co-writer Baz Lurhrmann ambitiously tries for a 3-D spectacle with several lavish party scenes that Busby Berkeley would have envied. He inserts bits of  anachronistically modern music into this 1922 setting. That worked beautifully in his Moulin Rouge, and hilariously in the opening joust of A Knight’s Tale, but feels overly …

Update: Glaser performed "The A Team" on Monday night's episode of "The Voice." Vote for Glaser and purchase her performance on iTunes here. Coach Blake Shelton said he felt like he was in "back in St. Louis" performing in St. Louis having a "special latte" at a coffee shop. Coach Usher called her performance "soothing," said it felt very relaxed and that he knew "America is gonna vote for you."  Her own coach, Adam Levine, said that she did "an amazing job" and should "be proud of what she did." Original story: There have been blind auditions, battle duets and knock-out rounds, but tonight Caroline Glaser, the Picasso's Coffee House performer and Chesterfield-native, will face her toughest challenge yet on “The Voice” – a live audience. …

If you haven’t seen the first two flicks, don’t start here. You’ll be missing too much backstory to get into the flow. For veterans of the first two blockbusters, Robert Downey, Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow are back as the leads, with Don Cheadle and Jon Favreau reprising their …

After last year’s sleeper sensation, Beasts of the Southern Wild, we get another soggy setting for a lesser, but still worthy, coming-of-age drama that’s more about specific characters than a subculture. Here, a couple of teen boys, Ellis and "Neckbone" (one of the coolest nicknames in movie history) find a guy (Matthew McConaughey) hiding on an island in the sleepy backwaters near their …
