Women Accused of Stealing $1,795 in Formula From St. Charles Walmart
St. Charles Police said one woman stole 96 Enfamil cans while a second woman stole 20 more cans.
Two women face criminal charges after St. Charles Police said they stole 116 cans of Enfamil formula over a 12-day period.
Hattie Allen, 38, and Shamika M. Thomas, 42, both of the 5000 block of Queens in the city of St. Louis, were charged Jan. 18 with of felony stealing.
They were arrested and police said Allen admitted to stealing the formula from Walmart on several occasions over the previous two weeks:
- Jan. 5, stole 20 cans
- Jan 6, stole 20 cans
- Jan. 6, stole 24 cans
- Jan. 12, stole 12 cans
- Jan. 16, stole 20 cans.
Thomas was accused of stealing 20 cans of Enfamil on Jan. 16 and helping Allen steal 20 cans of the formula.
Each can costs $15.48. Total value of the thefts comes to $1,795.68.
Police said Thomas admitted she uses heroin. She had been released from probation in August on a charge of receiving stolen property.
Thomas and Allen were being held in St. Charles County jail Wednesday. Bail was set at $10,000 for each woman.
