St. Charles City-County Library Seeks Volunteers in 2013
Check out all the ways you can help your local library.
St. Charles City-County Library District has several ways for people to volunteer in the new year: Help out a local branch, help with the Library Foundation or with the Friends of the Library branch.
All volunteers must apply to the district, undergo a background check (at your expense) and attend volunteer training. Download one of the attached volunteer applications and submit via email to volunteer@stchlibrary.org.
Here are a few opportunities:
- Mobile Library Manager: This person manages mobile libraries, replenishes books, delivers and prepares Ready 2 Read Kits for delivery. Must commit to one day a month for two hours for a year. Must be 18 and older.
- Ready 2 Read Volunteer Manager: This person manages materials and ordering for mobile libraries and helps coordinate delivery of Ready 2 Read kits. Must serve one day a week for four hours for at least 6 months. Must be 18.
- Books 2 You Discussion leader: Leads book discussions for senior facilities, reads aloud to seniors unable to read on their own. This person will serve one day a month for two hours for at least a year.
