Police Reports: Thieves Hit Cars Parked on South Fifth Street

St. Charle Police Reports, July 25-26.

 

Thieves broke into several vehicles in the parking lot of a hotel in the 1400 block of South Fifth Street overnight July 25 and 26. A Ford F150 was also stolen from the lot.

Someone tried to punch the lock on the cars and eventually broke out windows to get into the cars. Items stolen include a .45 Colt Commando, two fully-loaded clips, money, a Nintendo DS and video games. The thefts occurred between 6:30 p.m. July 26 and 6 a.m. July 26.

Stealing

  • Two employees of a business at Country Club Plaza Drive had money taken from their purse while it was in the employee changing room between 10:30 and 11 a.m. July 25.
  • A bicycle was stolen from in front of a 3800 block of Mexico Road between 11 p.m. July 25 and 9 a.m. July 26.
  • Someone stole two ladders from a white van parked at Point West Blvd. in St. Chalres between noon July 22 and 2 p.m. July 26. 

Burglary

  • A thief forced the overhead door to a detached garage open at a home on North Fifth Street. Tools were stolen.

Displaying Sexually Explicit Material

  • Police arrested someone for viewing inappropriate content on a public computer at Kathryn Linnemann Library around 7 p.m. July 26.

 Identity Theft

  • Someone opened a cell phone account in the name of a business located at Little Hills Industrial Blvd between March 30 and July 7. 

Car break ins

  • Two unlocked vehicles parked at Basket Oak Drive in St. Charles had items stolen from them overnight on July 25.
  • Thieves driving in a grey minivan broke into two  unlocked cars parked on Jefferson Street around 9:30 p.m. An iPod touch and an iPod were stolen from the cars.
  • Two cars parked in the ShowMe’s parking lot were “bumped” by thieves. A pistol, three magazines, a duty bag and miscellaneous paperwork was stolen from one car between 8:30 July 25 and 1 a.m. July 26.  The thieves were unable to make entry into the other vehicle.
  • A car parked in the parking lot of the Fairfield Inn Hotel on veterans Memorial was broken into between 6 p.m. July 25 and 7 a.m. July 26. A GPS was stolen.

Property Damage

  • Solar powered yard lights were destroyed overnight in the 200 block of Brookdale on July 26.
