Police: Man Flees, Struggles With Cops, Caught With Drugs

After a traffic stop, the passenger ran after officers asked him to get out of the car, police said.

A Warrenton man faces several criminal charges—including assaulting an officer and resisting arrest—as police said he tried to escape from officers following a traffic stop in St. Charles.

Jason Stufflebean, 35, of the 700 block of Wabash in Warrenton, was charged Tuesday with possessing methamphetamine, possessing marijuana, assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and possessing drug-related items.

St. Charles Police said an officer was monitoring traffic when he spotted a car that had active warrants on it. The officer said Stufflebean, a passenger in the car, gave the officer a false name. When asked to get out of the car, police said Stufflebean pushed the officer and began running.

After officers caught him, he continued to struggle and had to be tased, according to the report. Police said he threw away marijuana and coffee filters during the chase and they found a baggie of meth and a used syringe.

Stufflebean is being held at the St. Charles city jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond.

I witnessed the whole thing and he didnt assult no police officer. THEY assulted him!!! He was on the ground while they kept kicking him, he was also on the ground when they tased him!!. I know he might have some bad demons on his side, but when he is being charged with something he did not do that is wrong! I wish I would have video taped it while it was being done because he did NOT assult the police officer.

Drugs change people but in the end it is your own actions. We just need to take responsibility for them.
