People's Choice Awards on Main Street
Spectators at the annual Fête De Glacé vote for the winners in the ice sculpture competition.
During the 13th Fête De Glacé (Festival of Ice) on Jan. 29, visitors were given the chance to vote for the favorite sculptures. The annual event held in the 100 to 200 blocks of North Main Street in St. Charles hosted professional ice carvers using chain saws, chisels, power grinders, sanders and irons to turn blocks of ice into works of art.
The carvers competed in three separate categories for cash prizes determined by votes received from spectators. A total of 18 sculptures were created in the categories of monster carvers, master carvers, and carvers.
