Two St. Charles County Ambulance District Paramedics were recognized for their life-saving efforts last May at the First Annual Lifesavers Awards May 18 at Lumiere Place.
Paradmedics Donna Larson and Kevin Griffith responded to a 911 call from Yvonne Fagan on May 31, 2011. Yvonne was driving her 52-year-old husband Dave to the hospital because he was experiencing chest pain. When he became unresponsive, Yvonne pulled into Gingham's Restaurant and called 911.
Donna Lorson and Kevin Griffith found Dave Fagan in cardiac arrest. Paramedic supervisor Laura Sicking also responded and resuscitated Fagan after conducting three shocks. He was released from the hospital June 7, 2011.
This incident was submitted as an event worth of recognition to the Life Savers Awards where six other counties and the city of St. Louis also recognized life-saving incidents.
First responders and hosptial staff could reunite with former patients.
