New Assistant Principal Hired at Hardin Middle School
Current assistant principals at Jefferson, Hardin resign, ask to return to teaching positions.
St. Charles Board of Education approved hiring Steve Wilson as the new assistant principal at Hardin Middle School starting next school year.
Wilson is the current dean of students at both Hardin Middle and Jefferson Intermediate School, a position that was created two years ago to help with discipline in the schools.
The district is considering cutting the dean position for next year, however, in an effort to have a balanced budget.

Board member Donna Towers said the hiring team considered four candidates and that Wilson was outstanding.
“I think he’s a great person,” Towers said. “He’ll be a great addition, happy to have him on board.”
Current Assistant Principal Matthew Lenger resigned and asked to be return to a teaching position, said Jeff Marion, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
Marion said Nicole Besselman, current assistant principal at Jefferson Intermediate School, also resigned and asked to return to teaching. Besselman offered her resignation to the board during a special board meeting Tuesday, Feb. 21.
She declined to speak to Patch about her plans for the future or her reasons for resigning.
Jefferson Intermediate School will have entirely new leadership next year. Current principal Kim Harris will step in as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. The School Board approved hiring Beth Bartell as the new principal earlier this year.
The school district is currently looking for a new assistant principal at Jefferson Intermediate School.

Once again, you gota ask what's going on with this school board. New people being put in to management posisions and dedicated people resigning. They must not fit in the new CLICK at school. What a shame, the kids lose out again.

This is weird. That said, Mr. Wilson is a good choice.
