National Wear Red Day is a reminder for Americans that Heart Disease is a leading cause of death for women in the U.S.
Cardiovascular disease kills 500,000 American women each year, according to the American Heart Association. This fact prompted the AHA to create the National Wear Red Day on Feb. 1 of each year.
In St. Charles County, the SSM Heart Institute is sponsoring the seventh annual “Her Heart: Every Beat Counts” education and screening day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 at The Heart of St. Charles Banquet Center.
