Massage Therapist Arrested for Secretly Taping Clients
Kirk M. Jackson, who worked at Atlas Massage Therapy in St. Charles, was charged March 29 with invasion of privacy.
A St. Charles massage therapist was charged with invasion of privacy on Thursday after police discovered a hidden camera in a massage room during a sting operation.
Kirk M. Jackson, 38, of the 600 block of King Drive in St. Charles, was arrested and is being held in St. Charles County Jail on $75,000 cash-only bond. Invasion of privacy is a Class D felony.
Jackson ran Atlas Massage Therapy which is located at 2368 Old Highway 94 in St. Charles, west of the the intersection of Old Highway 94 and Muegge Road.
A woman contacted St. Charles Police several weeks ago, stating that she believed that a massage therapy session performed by Jackson had been recorded by hidden video camera, according to Lt. Dave Senter. The woman said she was suspicious of a tin covering a tissue box because it had holes in the side.
On March 28, a female police officer booked a therapy appointment and arrived undercover and was directed to the therapy room. Jackson asked the officer to undress, but a search warrant was served before the massage began. Investigators found an active hidden camera in a wall hanging in the room where the massage was to happen.
The camera was turned on and recording.
Police later searched Jackson's house and took a computer, external hard drive, cds and DVDs. A search revealed clips of Jackson concealing the video camera and of nude and partially nude women, according to court documents.
Police believe that the recording may have been going on for more than a year and possibly in another unidentified location. Police ask anyone who believes he or she may be a victim to contact the department at 636-949-3300 or 636-949-3320.
