The holiday season isn't quite here yet, but local charities are gearing up for the season of giving.

The Salvation Army is gearing up for its Tree of Lights Red Kettle campaign. Bell ringers are needed throughout St. Charles County. Some locations opened their bell ringing campaigns today; most begin between Nov. 19-25.

There are two Salvation Army Corps in St. Charles County. The O'Fallon Corps covers Dardenne Prairie, Lake Saint Louis, O'Fallon and Wentzville. The St. Charles Corps includes Cottleville, St. Charles and St. Peters.

Bell ringers are needed at several locations around the county. Ringers may sign up for shifts that begin later this month and run through Dec. 24.

I've always considered volunteering to be a bell ringer.

City of St Peters is still looking for Bell Ringers for the 9th and 10th of Dec. Please call Julie Smith and see what store and hours .Also the trades from all local unions are ringing bells on the 10th of Dec along with St Peters. Also the trades will be ringing bells from Bellville, Collinsville Il all the way to KC Missouri. This will be an All American way of helping so many in need. I thank all the Men, Women, Children for being there when the call for help is needed. Remember there is no season for the needy...........
