Family from Iowa Wants Stolen Photos Returned

Family stopped at O'Charleys on their way home from a road trip and thieves broke into their car.

Ramkishore and Connie Mangra can get over the loss of their checkbook, cash, Nintendo games, and Lego toys that were stolen from their car while they stopped in St. Charles County on the way home to Iowa last week.

But they'd really like to have the photo sim cards returned.

The couple, who is from Des Moines, Iowa, stopped at O'Charleys around 5:30 p.m. July 5 on the way home from a family reunion in Florida.

The Mangra's daughter and three grandsons were with them. While they dined, thieves broke into their car and stole library books, backpacks with stuffed animals and a purse along with cash and the camera.

The family just wants the photo card back and wrote Patch with this message to the people who stole the items:

To the people who broke into our vehicle Thursday, July 5, 2012 between 5:45 p.m. and 7 p.m.: Can we please have the chips back that were in the cameras there were over more than 400 pictures taken at our reunion, the beaches and Legoland. There are so many memories on these pictures. Our grandsons would forgive you.

Please, please turn it in or mail them to St. Peters Police or the St. Charles Police Department

Thank you from three little boys who are very confused, and very sad that someone would take all of their belongings.
Thank you so much and respectfully,

Ramkishore and Connie Mangra
Des Moines, Iowa

What a bad image this leaves for our family oriented St. Charles County. I hope anyone who knows the culprits will encourage them to do the right thing and return the sim cards. Disgusted.

This story makes me so sad. I thought things like this happened in St. Louis but not our safe St. Charles!

Hi Pat, thanks for your comments. Doesn't matter where you live, there's crime everywhere. I see it as I report the weekly police blotter. You have to be careful about what you leave in your car wherever you are.
