• A few fun things happening this weekend that cost $5 or less: a night of poetry at the Foundry Art Centre featuring Michael Castro, Peter Carlos, Teddy Norris, Kelli Allen, Dawn Dupler, and Julia Gordon-Bramer. Or check out the local author signing at Crooked Tree Coffee House on Saturday. Maybe swing by the cabin fever book sale hosted by the St. Charles City-County Library District Foundation on Saturday. • The Columbia Tribune has a story about a bill that would require driver's tests to be given in English, which is being co-sponsored by District 16 House Rep. Mark Parkinson, who represents part of St. Charles.

• Lindenlink wrote about job opportunities available through Life Skills, an organization based in Creve Coeur which is expanding services to clients in St. Charles County.

• Our friends at the Suburban Journals wrote about the annual St. Charles West Pink Out game in which gate receipts from the basketball games will go toward cancer research. The game is Feb. 13.

• Webster-Kirkwood Times mentioned that Dr. Russell Dawn, a Lindenwood University professor of religion, will be teaching a class called "World Religions Through Christian Eyes" at St. Paul's Christian Church in Des Peres. Get more details on their website.

• One volunteer opportunity this weekend is happening in downtown St. Louis. Volunteers are needed to help plant bulbs along major highways. Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
